The primary purpose of the American Institute of Building Design is to promote professionalism in the buidling design industry. USM students interested in a profession in building design can network with other students and professionals to learn and be involved in activities such as field trips to design firms, job sites, and listening to design professionals speak on subjects related to architecture.
Dues for the organization are $35 per year. Of this amount, $10 is for local dues, $15 for national dues, and $10 for a national initiation fee which includes a certificate and other materials.
Joining the student chapter of AIBD at USM is a great way to enjoy social and professional involvement in the Building Design industry.
