School of Construction

The School of Construction offers four undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree programs with direct application to industry:

  • Architectural Engineering Technology (ACT)
  • Construction Engineering Technology (BCT)
  • Industrial Engineering Technology (IET)
  • Interior Design (ID) 

Also available are two emphasis areas in Residential Construction and Logistics.

The school also offers two Master of Science degrees:

  • Engineering Technology (MSET)
  • Logistics, Trade & Transportation (MSLTT)

Within the MSET degree program are three emphasis areas:

  • Construction Management and Technology (CMT)
  • Architecture and Construction Visualization (ACV)
  • Logistics Management and Technology (LMT)

All undergraduate engineering technology programs are accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology (TAC-ABET).  The Construction Engineering Technology program is also accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) making it dually accredited. The Construction Engineering Technology program is also SOCNAV (Serviceman Opportunity College for the Navy) approved.

The Interior Design program is also dually accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).

Mission of Department

The School of Construction strives to provide effective technology, engineering and management education for its graduates to serve needs in the construction, architectural and industrial sectors. To achieve its mission, the School of Construction strives to create a learning environment to nurture the development of critical thinking skills; develop knowledge and technology expertise; and support innovation and technology transfer.
